The Garden Route runs along the Western Coast of South
Africa. It starts in Cape Town, ends in Port Elizabeth, and is named for
its abundant plant life, forests and vegetation. The beauty of this region
lies in its diversity: deep gorges, forested plains and sweeping rivers
converge in a scenic wonderland. It’s one of Mother Nature’s finest
masterpieces and it can be experienced in a variety of ways.
This area has one of the mildest climates in South Africa, and the second
mildest in the world after Hawaii. Both summer and winter are mild:
temperatures in winter seldom fall below 10°C and rarely rise above 28°C in
summer. Because it boasts such a mild climate, the Garden Route can be
enjoyed at any time of the year.
